We finally got a termination hearing date for Little Man's case - October 15. It's so nice to now have a date to look forward to. I really doubt that bmom will be willingly relinquishing before that date - she has fought everything tooth and nail, no matter how many therapists testify that she is not capable of parenting Little Man. So, when October 15 comes, he will finally be legally free and we will be able to start the adoption process. He will probably be close to three years old when the adoption is finally done, and he's been in foster care since he was 9 days old. It amazes me how long the state can drag out a case. I know for a fact this has taken a lot longer than necessary for at least two big reasons - the social worker failed to follow through with paperwork and court orders, and the bmom knowingly committed fraud against the court on several occassions.
But, good things come to those that wait, and we know that when this is all said and done, it will be a very good thing!

Congrats!! Yea for LM!!! and you!
I just found your blog via Jody's (NDfostermom)blog. I look forward to going back and reading all about your journey to parenthood via foster care/adopt!
My dh and I are in the process of becoming licensed foster parents, and then adopting a little girl that we've been matched with through the foster care system. We've been through a lot to get her here and to become foster parents...so I understand how you feel about the court/system dragging their feet with TPR, etc.
Good luck to you!
I am so happy Little Man will be with you!! I was nervous about the post with the New Judge and everything. We are still waiting in Fostercare to adopt. :(
We thought this little one here now would be ours...and he has been in care for almost 10 months! The County seemed to imply a little that it was a good possibility of Adoption. We were guarded but ....his goal is still reunification and the Mom and Dad's Therapists seem to be making progress with them. Now his visits are increased per the request of the Guardian Ad Litem and the Caseworker. He is just a baby and this takes such a toll on him! He was with another foster family for months and removed. I worry he will have serious bonding issues if they remove him from us. We will have him for a while longer knowing they will try and send him back (sux) I hate waiting-and wish something would change or the parents would just screw up and he would end up staying with us! But in anycase...By your keeping Little Man still gives us so much hope! I am truly happy for you!!!
So glad there is an end to the tunnel! Good luck - I hope the process speeds up from here :-)
WHEW! That is the BEST news!!!! YIPPIE!!! After TPR it is all so fast, and so much easier.
That is so great!!!!!! I love good news!
